Project Description: Samarskoe deposit; Sam Project; a coal deposit located in the Nurinskiy District of Karaganda Region, 6.5 km from Samarka village. The deposit is represented by Karaganda and Dolinskaya formations with such coal grades as K, GZh, KZh (К, ГЖ, КЖ),
Project’s Current Status: Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) report is being prepared by DMT GmbH & Co, which is an international independent engineering and consulting company,
Project Reserves: According to the MRE Report (in compliance with the JORC Code requirements) the total reserves are 155 mln tons for all coal seams; 127 mln tons - for mineable coal seams.
Mining Method: Underground mining by inclined shafts; mining by horizontal longwalls,
Project Process Information: Gravity-flotation coal washing,
Project Duration: 8 years (from 2018 to 2026, until own processing plant is launched),
Deposit Development Period: 16 years (the current contract expires in 2042),
Project Design Capacity: 3 million tons per year of raw coal, 313 thousand tons per year of coke concentrate and 115 thousand tons of energy concentrate,
Project’s Current Stage Finance Status: The project is 100% funded,
Start of Facilities Construction: 1st quarter of 2025,
Facilities Launch Planned At: 4th quarter of 2026.
